Start your morning right with this delicious egg scramble made with cheddar cheese and perfectly seasons sausage crumbles. Cooks quickly to get you back onto the trail and set off on your next trek.
freeze-dried eggs (whole eggs, non-fat milk, soybean oil, modified food starch, salt, xanthan gum, citric acid, butter flavor, pepper), freeze-dried cheddar cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes, annatto [vegetable color]), freeze-dried sausage (freeze-dried pork, salt, spices, sugar, sodium phosphate)
I had 3 of these on my recent rim to rim to rim backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. Loved the ingredients, taste and weight and amount of single serving size. Had some others with me taste these, and they all loved them. They are a staple for future adventures.
The amount of water they recommend is too much. At least, it was for me. I brought the water to a full rolling boil, measured the exact amount if water and let it soak for about 4l5 minutes over the recommended time and there was still a lot of water sloshing around.
I ended up using some applewiod smoked bacon instant mashed potatoes powder from a friend and it soaked up the water.
The meal was no longer keto but tasted awesome!
The sausage and eggs have pleasantly large chunks. Once you get the water dialed in, it is great!
I have been camping for most of my life. At least 50+ years. I have been using freeze dried meals since they came out. Breakfast is my favorite mess as l of the day and the Sausage Scramble meal by Next Mile Meals is the best I’ve ever tried. I will be doing a trip this coming summer across the US on my motorcycle and will be camping every night. This will be accompanying me on this trip. Looking forward to trying the rest of the meals.
Solid taste, great morning energy paired with a tortilla. Wish the cheese didn’t clump so much.
Enjoyed the sausage scramble. Tasty, easy and quick. Thanks.
