Start your morning right with this delicious egg scramble made with cheddar cheese and perfectly seasons sausage crumbles. Cooks quickly to get you back onto the trail and set off on your next trek.
freeze-dried eggs (whole eggs, non-fat milk, soybean oil, modified food starch, salt, xanthan gum, citric acid, butter flavor, pepper), freeze-dried cheddar cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes, annatto [vegetable color]), freeze-dried sausage (freeze-dried pork, salt, spices, sugar, sodium phosphate)
I have realized that eggs don’t rehydrate well and most have a weird spongy texture. This is no different but a decent effort. The cheese doesn’t incorporate or melt into the eggs and meat well. Flavor is decent.
I purchased several of the meals but I have not tried them yet. I will begin my walk in February and then I will write a review on them.
I really appreciated eating an excellent, hearty, big calorie breakfast while my riding partner was eating packets of oatmeal. These breakfasts will turn any Bikepacker into a Mile Crushing KETO machine!
This is by far the best dehydrated egg meal I have tried. Most of them require cold soaking first then cooking in a pan. This is easy cook in the pouch so there's no dishes to clean. The flavor was solid. Nice chunks of sausage.
It would be one of the better backpacking breakfasts, but the salt level is way to high. Not sure if I would buy again. Would have rated it a 5 but for the saltiness.
