Trip had to be cancelled for lack of water! Will respond after the next trip. Thanks!
The best!! Soooo yummmy!
The flavor was good, but this zucchini and some of the beef didn't hydrate properly. I even left it in the package after pouring hot water in for twice the amount of recommended time and it was still dry. Too bad because this would be great for my ketogenic diet.
Being a full time keto person and an almost full time IF'er I am either limited to cobbing together my own meals or buying Next Mile. Some of their stuff is good tasting for backpacking food, but not necessarily good tasting food. This meal is legit good tasting food, I honestly couldn't believe I was eating re-hydrated out of a bag.
I am not going to downgrade the rating because the meal is legit good, but my biggest complaint with next mile meals is failing to acknowledge that keto and intermittent fasting go hand in hand. We don't need to constantly refill our fuel tank because it is always full riding right under our skin underneath the hip belt - no bonking unless we get our water or electrolytes out of wack. As such I would really prefer a meal packaged with a double portion since I am really only eating twice a day. I know Trailtopia offers 2 portion packs to save on weight and they also offer supplemental packets of more meat (and extra 250 calories) -- maybe ya'll could do that in the future?
So good, best meal I had out camping and would have sworn it wasn’t a rehydrated meal.
