This Louisiana-inspired dinner is the perfect addition to our line up and we can't WAIT for you to try it.
Our own twist on this cajun classic has the most delicious slow-roasted pork, seasoned okra and bell peppers, and enough of a kick to make you realize that you have never had a backpacking meal this good.
As always, our meals offer flexibility and customizability: no rice to be found here for our keto and paleo fans, but our carb-loving customers can easily add some instant rice to this meal for an incredible (and inexpensive way) to truly get two servings out of every bag.

Husband was very disappointed in this flavor. Said it was bitter and had very little flavor and was not spicy as he had hoped. On a positive note the pork peices where nice and big and love that the ingredients are good. The other flavors we got where much better.
Lived in New Orleans for years. Very skeptical of “jambalaya” w/o rice. As stated before rehydration of the large meat chunks is challenging. I found doing it in stages with a little extra water made the difference. Needed hot sauce but beyond that it was perfect.
Just came back from a 4 day / 3 night backpacking trip where I took only Next Mile Meals for all of my breakfasts and dinners and they were are delicious and didn't disappoint at all. I usually try to dehydrate my own but just didn't have the spare time for this trip in advance so I was super happy to have found these as a relatively low carb and healthier alternative to most of the others on the market. Don't mind the Mountain House peeking through the back, that was what my kids picked out for breakfast for that morning! :)
This one was pretty bland, wouldn't by again.
Came for the only dehydrated keto friendly meals, stayed for the taste.
Yes it’s takes a little more time to rehydrate and yes the huge pieces of pork might be a little hard in the center. Doesn’t matter to me. This meal is great. I used to cook in new Orleans so I know a little about Cajun food. No, It’s not traditional and no, it’s not hot enough. Just being a little hot sauce and this meal is better than anything I ate pre-keto. I just found my new “go to” pack food.
