This Louisiana-inspired dinner is the perfect addition to our line up and we can't WAIT for you to try it.
Our own twist on this cajun classic has the most delicious slow-roasted pork, seasoned okra and bell peppers, and enough of a kick to make you realize that you have never had a backpacking meal this good.
As always, our meals offer flexibility and customizability: no rice to be found here for our keto and paleo fans, but our carb-loving customers can easily add some instant rice to this meal for an incredible (and inexpensive way) to truly get two servings out of every bag.

Just came back from a 4 day / 3 night backpacking trip where I took only Next Mile Meals for all of my breakfasts and dinners and they were are delicious and didn't disappoint at all. I usually try to dehydrate my own but just didn't have the spare time for this trip in advance so I was super happy to have found these as a relatively low carb and healthier alternative to most of the others on the market. Don't mind the Mountain House peeking through the back, that was what my kids picked out for breakfast for that morning! :)
Cajun jambalaya is my new favorite! So good and hits the spot! I have been taking it while snowshoeing and it is delicious
Nice large chunks of pork. Great vegetables. Very nicely seasoned. We really enjoyed it. I do think that next time we'll increase the boiling water to 8 oz. and let it set for 12 minutes. Using the recommendation of 7 oz. and 10 minutes all the water was absorbed and a few pieces of pork were crunchy in the center. Still very good and easy chewing.
Next Mile Meals are all amazing! This one was no different!
