After an intense hike, sometimes all you crave is warm comfort food to fill you up and keep you going. This hearty meal packs in the protein with loads of savory chicken, and keeps it keto with broccoli and cheese in a deliciously creamy sauce. You’ll feel like you're eating a home-cooked casserole out on the trail, and you won't even have to make an appearance at Susan’s annual potluck to get it.
Net Carbs: 6g
freeze-dried white chicken, freeze-dried cheddar cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes, annatto [vegetable color]), heavy cream powder (sweet cream solids), freeze-dried broccoli, salt, paprika
It was amazingly good to come out of a bag...it was good enough that I ordered more. I am trying to be gluten free on my jobsite, and this is interestingly different than other foods I have tried
As previous posters mentioned, rehydrated chicken is not tender or good. Stick with the delicious beef marinara.
For starters, I love all the meals other than the curry, I don't care for curry. I love this meal, but I only eat it at home. I am on a strict ketogenic diet and some of these meals, specifically chicken and pork, are high protein and very low fat and will kick me out of ketosis. So this particular meal I add butter, parmesan, sometimes homemade ranch (avo or MCT mayo & sour cream), to make it more fat heavy. I would love to see these meals come with some keto friendly add fats or sauces so I can take them on longer trails like the JMT.
Easy to prepare, tastes good what more do you need. Will use on my next outing.
Just tried the Chicken & Broccoli meal. Great taste. I can only imagine it tasting even better out on the trail after a day of hiking.
So far I have not had a bad Next Mile Meal. Hope the continue to come out with new meals. Looking forward to continue eating them on my backpacking trips
